Hi Masuimi, Would like to get my first tattoo, but im not
sure what i should get. How did you know your first tattoo
was best for you? Joanne
Harrop
Hi!
I don't think my first tattoo story would be good advice, lol! I was
17, disowned, angry with the world.. one of my first tattoos was a
bio-mech widows peak tattoo on my forehead, 6 months later I tried
to scrub off with steel wool. I hated it, I cut bangs into my hair
to hide it. Luckily laser tattoo removal was invented and there is
no longer any trace, except for a tiny bit inside my hairline.
Since then, I have had all of my bad work lasered off and I'm happy
to say I love all of my tattoos now.
After realizing that I rushed to get the tattoos I had lasered off,
I needed to be sure about the design before getting tattooed
again. You should definitely research what you want. Also,
seeing a design on paper isn't the same as seeing it on your
skin. I hated my forehead tattoo for all sorts of reasons
but one of them was because no matter how many times I washed
my face it always looked dirty to me. Another example is when
I had the demon tattoo around my belly button, it always felt
unnatural, like a patch of hair or something, lol.
I'm getting new work done on my arms, I plan on having full sleeves,
but I'm taking my time. My tattoo artist comes over now and then with
ideas for my arms and she draws on my arms first then after she figures
out the placement she will draw it on paper.
Try to create something unique It's OK to be inspired by
something, but make it your own. To find inspiration you can
search online, find elements like shading, coloring, shape,
style, etc, that you like and show these things to the tattoo
artist you decide to go with. They can get an idea of what
you want and draw something just for you. I hope that helps!

Thank You for posting after that comment made regarding
your appearance being "Too Skinny". I have had an eating
disorder since i was about...8.I nearly died at age 15.I still have
it..It doesnt go away. It took me till I was 30 to develop ANY self
esteem at all.
I STILL WON'T have a picture taken of myself without at least a month
of practically starvation dieting. I see myself differently than others
maybe....but oddly...I can look at others and they can gain or lose
weight or have what they see as flaws...and I honestly don't see them.
Only in myself do I see them. I have high self esteem with my personality
...but that took yrs.and its mostly a coping mechanism. I can be sharp
tougned. and I don't like making a lot of friends. I have OCD and
I do OK in life...but sometimes people can be cruel. Kinda like that
woman and her comment....It's the little things people say that can
have the BIGGEST impact. Anyway...SORRY FOR BABBLING... But..thank
you for saying something... It's important. Sincerely, Sarah
Thank you so much for your email. I deal with she's too skinny,
too fat, her nose is too small, her lips are too big, etc
every day. I have OCD too.. it's difficult to just ignore
those comments and not let them have any impact on you.. I
think some girls just need a gentle reminder that there is
no perfect size and pointing out the obvious as a flaw is
not healthy or nice. Why not point out the good in someone
rather than what you consider a flaw? You know what I mean?
Thank you for letting me re-post your message on my site.
I really think this is an important issue and maybe this can
help at least one girl know she is not alone. XOXO Masuimi
